Trainees are supported for twelve-month appointments and have the ability to receive up to two years of funding based upon acceptable progress during their initial year. All trainees are required to pursue their research training full-time and fulfill their weekly research hours requirement. Trainees receive a monthly stipend, tuition and fees assistance (predoctoral trainees only), a contribution towards health insurance and travel funds to attend the annual Research Society on Alcoholism (RSA) conference. Occasionally funds are available for training related expenses; however, typically this grant category is depleted by health insurance costs.
