The 2013 NIAAA Training Directors Meeting and Trainee Workshop will begin accepting online registration forms in September 2013. An email will be sent to all attendees with instructions.
The R13 (PI: Edward Riley, SDSU) grant will provide support for up to two trainees presenting abstracts at the workshop from each of the NIAAA T32 programs. Support from the R13 for these trainees will include travel (airfare, shared room lodging Friday and Saturday evenings and travel day ground transportation expenses) and workshop expenses (registration). Supported trainees should await instructions which will be emailed early August on how to book their airfares with our travel agency. Hotel confirmation instructions for all (regardless of their source of support) will also be provided in September. Please do not contact the hotel prior to these instructions.
The Training Directors and NIAAA staff closed meeting will start at 11 AM on Friday, Oct. 18; and the workshop where the trainees will join in begins at 2 PM. As such, it has been estimated that trainees will travel Friday morning. The workshop will adjourn at 11 AM on Sunday, Oct. 20. Final decisions about which abstracts were selected for oral presentations and poster presentations will made by August 15th. One trainee from each program will be selected to make an oral presentation, the remaining abstracts will be poster presentations.
Space at the event is limited; therefore, if a program anticipates bringing more than two trainees (supported by means outside of the R13) or additional training faculty or staff, please email vanderv@mail.sdsu.edu so we can try our best to accommodate your requests. The registration cost will be between $200-$250 per person (training directors, trainees and NIAAA staff) and the hotel is $150 per night (including taxes).
The R13 does not provide support for Training Directors or NIAAA Staff.
